The program gave us not only an amazing opportunity to study group dynamics, best practices, and decision making skills, but also to put these into practice in the field.

 

The focus on trip planning, hazard and risk assessment, communication skills, leadership and debriefing was a key part of the course.

 

Concepts from ISO 31000 were reviewed frequently and put into practice.

Policies instituted for fieldwork modeled and emphasized how to operate in any future work or industry environments - filing fieldwork plans, check in / check out procedures, and creating emergency action plans.
